Choosing the right opener
Chain drives are the budget option and the loudest. Belt drives are much quieter, a smart pick for attached garages and rooms above. Wall-mount (jackshaft) openers free up the ceiling and are the quietest of all, a favorite for high ceilings and storage racks.
Most new openers include smartphone control, and many add battery backup and built-in cameras.
